Program of the Spring Highlights of Kyrgyzstan tour
Depart from Bishkek and head to the historic Burana Tower, an ancient landmark of Kyrgyzstan. Climb the tower for panoramic views and explore the ruins of the Silk Road city of Balasagun, wandering among old fortifications and mausoleums. After a traditional lunch, continue to the scenic Chon-Kemin Valley. Enjoy a horseback ride through pine forests and along the river, taking in the valley’s peaceful landscapes. In the evening, relax and spend the night in a cozy guesthouse.
Travel to the southern shore of Issyk-Kul and arrive in the village of Bokonbaevo, famous for its eagle hunters. Watch skilled hunters demonstrate how they train and work with golden eagles, and learn about the history and significance of this ancient tradition in Kyrgyz culture. After a hearty traditional lunch, head to the Ak-Sai area to walk among its striking red rock formations, enjoying the dramatic landscape and unique geological features. You can stay until sunset to capture the warm glow on the rocks before returning to a nearby guesthouse for an overnight stay.
In the morning, observe a demonstration of traditional Kyrgyz felt carpet (shyrdak) making in Bokonbaevo, learning about the techniques and cultural significance behind these colorful patterns. Then, visit Skazka Canyon to explore and photograph its whimsical, fairy-tale-like rock formations. After a traditional lunch, continue to Jeti-Oguz Valley, where you can walk through the stunning landscape and admire the famous “Seven Bulls” rock formation and the striking Oguz-Bashy Peak. In the evening, relax and spend the night in a comfortable guesthouse in the valley.
Set out on a horseback ride from Ak-Suu to Altyn-Arashan, covering about 14 km over 3–4 hours. Journey through lush pine forests, follow sparkling rivers, and admire the dramatic mountain scenery along the way. Upon arrival in the valley, relax in the natural hot springs surrounded by breathtaking peaks before spending the night at the welcoming “Elza” guesthouse.
Return on horseback from Altyn-Arashan to Ak-Suu, taking in the breathtaking mountain views and fresh alpine air along the trail. Afterward, drive to Karakol and enjoy a hearty lunch. In the afternoon, explore the city on a guided tour, visiting the ornate Russian Orthodox Church, the beautifully decorated Dungan Mosque, and strolling through the historic streets lined with wooden houses and local markets. In the evening, unwind and spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
Drive to the picturesque Turgen Gorge and visit the charming village of Jyrgalan, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and traditional Kyrgyz countryside. After exploring the village and taking in the serene landscapes, return to Karakol for rest and some free time at the hotel, with the option to stroll through the town, visit local shops, or simply relax and enjoy the evening.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out and transferring to Manas International Airport. Depart with unforgettable memories of Kyrgyzstan’s stunning landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality, along with countless photos to cherish from your journey.
