RECOMMENDED PHOTOGRAPHY GEAR

For wildlife photography, we recommend a telephoto lens of 400mm or longer, including 200–600mm, 180–600mm, 150–600mm, 400mm, 500mm, 600mm or 800mm lenses, depending on your camera system. A 2x teleconverter is also recommended for extra reach.

Wildlife is often observed from a considerable distance, typically around 500–1,000 meters, so a long focal length is essential for getting detailed photographs without disturbing the animals.

We also recommend bringing a sturdy tripod or monopod, extra batteries and sufficient memory cards.
