Descending into the deep valleys below, you reach Eki Naryn, a place where two branches of the Naryn River join together. Today, you head toward one of Kyrgyzstan’s most breathtaking and remote destinations: Lake Kol-Tetiri (Kel-Suu). Surrounded by cliffs and dramatic rock formations, the lake sits high at 3514m on the Kokshaal-Too ridge near the Chinese border.
The lake was formed thousands of years ago after a huge earthquake created a natural dam, trapping glacial waters between steep rock walls. Because of its isolation, visiting Kel-Suu feels like stepping into a world untouched by time. In the morning, you will take a trip to Lake Kol-Tor, a small but incredibly beautiful high-altitude lake located at around 4000m. The short and accessible walking trail leads you through alpine plateaus to a bright-blue lake surrounded by snowy peaks. Even in summer, patches of snow often remain here, adding to the magical atmosphere.
After spending time by the lake, you will continue to At-Bashy, a friendly town surrounded by mountains. This area has long served as a crossroads for shepherds, traders, and travelers along the ancient Silk Road.

At-Bashy is one of the region’s most important villages—known for its lively animal bazaar, where locals buy and sell horses, sheep, cattle, and donkeys. After a short drive, your adventure continues on horseback as you ride for about 2 hours through the Bash-Kayunday Gorge toward the impressive Shar Waterfall.
This is the highest waterfall in Kyrgyzstan, dropping nearly 400 meters, yet it remains little visited, making your journey feel truly special. The path winds through untouched valleys, giving you a chance to enjoy pristine nature far from roads and noise.
